The University of Tulsa’s Office of Civic Engagement, the Tulsa Press Club and Oklahoma Watch present Candidate Conversations with Oklahomans running in this year’s elections. The forums invite Republicans and Democrats to present their cases and answer questions from local journalists before the Primary Election.
A governor candidate forum is set for Tuesday, June 2. A forum with candidates running for state superintendent will be Thursday, June 4.
Republican gubernatorial candidates Gentner Drummond, Leisa Mitchell Haynes, Chip Keating, Charles A. McCall and Jake Merrick, and Democrat Cyndi Munson will face questions from Oklahoma Watch’s Paul Monies and the Tulsa World’s Randy Krehbiel.
Republican superintendent candidates Robert Franklin and Adam Pugh and Democrat Jennettie Marshall will answer questions from Oklahoma Watch’s Andrea Eger and the Tulsa Flyer’s Ginnie Graham on Thursday.
The events will be at the Lorton Performance Center on TU’s campus, 550 S. Gary Place. Candidates and their campaign staff will meet and greet constituents in the lobby of the center from 5 to 6 p.m. The candidates will then come on stage at the center from 6 to 7:30 p.m. to answer questions from local reporters. Tulsa Press Club President Jason Collington will moderate.
This event is open to the public and does not require tickets but the seating is limited. Parking is available across from the center.
